Get to Know Sandra:
What is your favorite part of working in a law firm?
Working as a team to help people with their legal needs and gaining experience for my future in my own legal career.
What part of the legal process are you most passionate about? Why?
Helping people know their rights. It’s empowering to know what we can do in situations where we feel as if our hands are tied. I really enjoy helping people navigate through sticky situations and to let them know they are not alone.
What drew you to the legal profession?
I was previously a nurse, and I’m currently a mother of 3. Helping, coaching, nurturing, has always been my thing. In many ways, I see the legal field as very similar.
Is there a specific story, anecdote or person that influenced you to work in the legal profession?
Yes! I spent Christmas of 2020 with friends, and we all took a personality test called the “enneagram” test. I was the only one that scored a “3w4.” Jobs where 3w4’s do well include legal careers. I contacted my own lawyer the next day and told her how “nursing” wasn’t anywhere on that list. She went to Empire College herself and encouraged me to give them a call. I did, and the ball started rolling from there. She continues to be one of my biggest cheerleaders.
What aspects of your job do you most value?
Helping the firm run smoothly, and ensuring clients and attorneys get what they need.
Outside of the office, what are you passionate about/involved in?
I’m currently a law student and a member of the Sonoma County Women in Law group.
What are your favorite sports teams?
I’m really not a big follower of sports teams, but I’ve gone to some local games. I am proud of being from the Bay Area where we have some incredible sports teams that have won in some pretty big ways in the past few years!
What are your favorite places to grab a meal in your community?
I’m a big foodie, as they say. Some of my favorite places are: Boathouse in Bodega Bay with the most incredible fish and chips around, Hang Ah Chinese food in Santa Rosa never disappoints me, and spicy chicken sandwiches will always be one of my favorites too.
Are you married? Do you have children? Grandchildren? If so, what are their ages?
I was married for 8 years, and I have 3 children, ages: 6, 4, and 2 years old.
What is your favorite book? TV show? Movie?
It’s a tie between Harry Potter, or Outlander for books. For shows, The Amazing Mrs. Maisel or Gilmore Girls, both which are created by the very talented Amy Sherman-Palladino!
Is there anything else that people should know about you?
I was born and raised in Sonoma County. My family are well-known farmers and beekeepers, and I grew up selling at farmers markets. Working hard and helping people is what I grew up doing.
What should people know about the firm?
We are all kind and hardworking people who will do the most we can for clients. When I was a new employee, I felt at home right away.
