Jessica Berlat was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2015. Jessica began her legal career as a civil litigator with an established firm in San Francisco before transitioning her practice to representing individual clients in all areas of family law.

Ms. Berlat earned her Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2014, graduating with highest honors, as a member of the Jesse Carter Society, and with a specialization certificate in litigation.

During law school, Jessica was selected to participate in Golden Gate’s Honors Lawyering program. She made the Dean’s List each semester and received multiple awards for academic excellence. Jessica was a law clerk for the Sonoma County District Attorney’s office where she was certified to appear in court. She served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Magistrate Judge Elizabeth D. Laporte of the United States District Court. Jessica also served as Executive Research Editor and Staff Writer for the Golden Gate University Law Review.

She is a strong advocate for her clients, tailoring her approach to the unique needs of each particular case.

As someone who has been married and divorced, she understands firsthand how stressful and emotional divorce can be. Jessica’s two children have only further enriched her ability to understand the importance of stability and security in consideration of her clients’ children. In her practice, Jessica’s goal is to contain conflicts, resolve disputes and provide her clients with an opportunity to reach a timely resolution.  Jessica believes what makes the practice of family law so rewarding is the ability to have a positive impact on the lives of her clients and their families.
